Pathways Garden

Brief Description
In this activity two groups of students from different schools are involved to design and implement a small garden in each school.

Description of Activities

As arrangements for the mutual visit between both schools is conducted, part of the activities could be making a small green garden in each school. We would call this small corner “PATHWAYS”, or “PARTNERHOOD”, or “GOOD WILL” or any agreed on name by both groups.

For the creation of these gardens, the local community can be approached for donation and covering the expenses as well as the mayor of the town in coordination with the school.

The garden is small (up to 5 sqm) that include seasonal flower plants and a few trees. It could also contain medical plants or plants related to both cultures.(to be discussed and agreed on in advance between both sides).

The spot to be prepared and planted by both groups. They can exchange pictures, ideas and suggestions before the assigned day.

On the date of implementation, the sponsors are invited to share and to be thanked.

If such activity is implemented with care and great interest, it can have a long-term positive impact on bringing both groups close to each other and can inspire other schools and communities.

Signs to be put by the garden containing names of the garden, schools and sponsors.
